Middle School - Confirmation

Confirmation is main opportunity for middle school-aged youth to get involved in the church and with Christ Lutheran Church's youth program. 7th and 8th graders are invited and encouraged to join the Confirmation program which involves two years of studying and growing in their faith. Small group and learning events occur Wednesday evenings at the church from 7:00 -8:30pm. The evenings open and close with large group with small group time in the middle. Youth are then confirmed at the end of their 8th grade year.

 

We use Here We Stand Confirmation from Augsburg-Fortress; which utilizes Power Points and student take-home sheets. This curriculum has proved to be very successful in the past few years.

 

In addition to learning events on Wednesday nights, students are expected to particpate in service events throughout the year, acolyte during service on assigned Sundays, take worship notes, and meet with an adult mentor during the season of Lent leading up to Easter. Every January there is a Confirmation retreat, in addition to a retreat for 8th graders.
